DecisionDesk Raises $1.7M to Continue Innovation of the Application Process

With the help of angel investors and the state of Ohio, the Cleveland and New York-based company has raised $1.7 million in new funding to expand its team and its cloud-based applicant tracking and screening platform, it was announce this week in a Venturebeat exclusive.

“The State’s funding comes at a perfect time in our growth cycle. We’ve quickly become the leading provider of online audition management and are rapidly expanding as an enterprise provider for higher education institutions,” said CEO John Knific.

DecisionDesk works with over 100 clients to make the application process more efficient. The platform provides unlimited cloud data storage to review application data and media. Workflow management tools help distribute applications to reviewers and decisions are made easier with analytical reports.
“We’re in this to save organizations thousands of wasted hours and dollars, help clients attract phenomenal talent, and create an awesome application experience for students,” said Knific.

The majority of DecisionDesk’s clients include prestigious music programs at universities throughout the country, including the Fulbright Scholars Program, Carnegie Mellon School of Music and Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute, according to Venture Beat.

The company received new funding on March 11, when the Ohio Office of Budget and Management Controlling Board approved a Innovation Ohio Fund Loan of $750,000. Along with $1 million from angel investors in New York and Ohio angel investors, led by the Ohio-based North Coast Angel Fund., Combined with prior angel ivestment, DecisionDesk has reached $2.15 million in funding, to date..

Knific and his team plan to double the employee count in the next two to three years in their Cleveland and Brooklyn offices. DecisionDesk will keep innovating, starting with the release of their third generation application manager.
