Each week we bring you a handy guide to just a few of the events we think should not be missed. On any given night, there are too many events. You can’t attend all of them and neither should you, unless you’re a career socialite. For the week of April 22-26, here are our suggestions for navigating the scene:

“Behind the Pitch is a market-focused event for startups, providing quarterly data on fund raising and financing of early-stage ventures, as well as the status of VC/Angel funding and quarterly funding trends by region and sector. Behind the Pitch is an opportunity to hear from founders who have successfully raised funding for their ventures and to gain insights from our Pitch Pit of investors (VCs, angels, brands and institutions).”

What better way to celebrate tech in NYC than by dancing the night away to techno with a troupe of burlesque dancers. $5 of each ticket will be given to a non-profit selected during the party. “Get your tickets and let’s get weird!!!” Please do, and please send us photos!

NY Video April 2013 Meetup6:30-8:30PM
Columbia University: William and June Warren Hall

The NY Video Meetup, “the world’s largest organization of online video entrepreneurs,” hosts a panel this month that includes: Robert Green, Senior VP, Creative of Conde Nast Entertainment; Pablo Schklowsky, Tech Lead at LongTail Video; Toby Hervey, Director, Strategy and Business Development at #waywire; Amie Sepaniak, VP Sales and Business Development at Gander.tv, and Cesar Kuriyama, App Creator at 1 Second Everyday App. There will be time for networking before and after the presentations.
