Over a billion dollars was invested in New York City Startups in Q1 of 2014.  $1,255,579,433 to be exact.  Analyzing some publicly available data from our friends at CrunchBase, we take a look at the verticals and sectors this money went to. As a caveat, it is important to note that the category classifications are self reported by the companies and are therefore arbitrary and may or may not align with your definition of a specific industry group.
