Tech workers are demanding more money from potential employers, according to a semi-annual survey published Friday.
Dice.com, a tech-focused employment website, surveyed 737 recruiters and hiring managers across the country to gauge just how tight the talent wars have become.
The result: 61 percent of respondents said candidates are asking for more money compared to six months ago. More than 30 percent of hiring managers and recruiters said candidates are rejecting offers and 59 percent of those surveyed said that some positions are going unfulfilled because of salary guidelines.
Also, it looks like tech workers will continue to be able to make lofty salary demands.
Seventy percent of hiring managers said they plan to hire more tech professionals in the next six months than they did in the first half of 2014.
Companies are mostly looking for workers with six to ten years experience, followed by professionals with two to five years. 20 percent of respondents said that they will be adding entry level positions as well.
While the survey doesn’t break down the specific jobs in demand, Dice did provide CNBC with a list showing the growth in job postings from June 2013 to June 2014. These numbers are based on the number of job postings on Dice.com on any given day.
