Lauren Wagner Boyman
Executive Director, Head of Digital Strategy, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management
Lauren Wagner Boyman leads Digital Strategy at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management where she is responsible for client web and mobile strategies, FA mobile, social media programs, and online content management. She led the development and execution of the Firm’s social media strategy; MSWM was the first major brokerage to allow social networking usage for its Financial Advisors in a compliant way. Previously, Lauren led strategy for an area of MSWM called Marketing & The Client Experience, where she was responsible for the direction of initiatives focused on marketing strategy, client service, and client experience. Lauren previously worked at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Marketing Strategy and started her career at McKinsey & Company, working with a diverse set of financial services clients. Lauren is on the Board of the HBS Women’s Association of NY and is a Blogger for On Wall Street. She has a BS from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Linda Descano, CFA®
Managing Director and Head of Content and Social at Citi
Linda Descano is responsible for social media and content marketing efforts for the U.S. consumer businesses. Linda also serves as President and CEO of Women & Co., Citi’s award-winning digital publisher of financial lifestyle content. Over her 20 years at Citi, Linda has had a very diverse career, holding a number of roles across different divisions and functions. She joined Citi predecessor Salomon Inc. in 1994 as Vice President of Environmental Affairs. In 1999, Linda became a director and portfolio manager at Citi’s Private Portfolio Group. Linda joined Women & Co. in 2003 as Chief Operating Officer and was named CEO in 2010. She also served as Chief Administrative Officer of Global Marketing & Corporate Affairs from 2008-2010. Linda assumed her current responsibilities in 2012. Linda is the author of Citi’s Financial Fitness blog as well as a LinkedIn Influencer. She also is a contributing blogger for Women & Co. and Manilla.com, writing on an array of personal finance, career and leadership, and marketing topics. She was selected as one of GoBankingRates.com’s Most Popular Personal Finance Experts of 2013. Other honors include a 2013 Changing the Game Award from Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) and 2012 Women of Excellence Award for Community Service from the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE). Passionate about community service, Linda is on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the Director’s Council of the Penn Museum, and the advisory boards of Eve Echo, Fab&Fru and Generations. Linda currently serves as president-elect of New York Women in Communications and is active in a number of other civic and professional organizations. Linda lives in New Jersey with her husband and two cats.
Managing Director, Deutsche Bank
John Stepper is changing how people work at Deutsche Bank using collaboration platforms, communities of practice, and public social media channels. Prior to this, he worked on trading and risk technology at Deutsche, Morgan Stanley and NatWest Markets. He started his career at AT&T Bell Labs where he reengineered network control centers and co-authored “Successful Reengineering”. He’s been at Deutsche Bank since 1998. John graduated from Columbia University with a BA and MS in Computer Science. His upcoming book is “Working Out Loud”. And he writes about making work more effective and fulfilling at johnstepper.com
CEO/Founder, SocMediaFin, Inc.
Joyce Sullivan is founder and CEO of SocMediaFin, a social media consulting firm for financial services, specialty firms and industry executives. With over 20 years as VP with firms including, Citi, Credit Suisse, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo/First Fidelity, Joyce brings a seasoned global financial services industry perspective to the emerging world of social media. Passionate about teaching and mentoring, Joyce is an adjunct professor at City University of New York, Baruch College, School of Public Affairs teaching social media communications and a founding mentor for Women Innovate Mobile, the first startup accelerator focused on women-founded companies in mobile technology. Joyce holds an MBA from Baruch College, City University of NY in International Finance and Marketing, a BA in Education from University of Saint Joseph, Connecticut, and the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute. Joyce enthusiastically participates in NYC “Silicon Alley” activities including beta testing mobile applications for startup companies and live tweeting social media events. As founder of their social media program, Joyce served as the first chief digital strategist for the Financial Women’s Association, a professional networking and non-profit organization for senior financial services executives. Joyce has spoken at numerous industry conferences and events including 2012 South by Southwest (SXSW) on a panel she curated and organized discussing global financial services and social media challenges.
