Poland-born Avi Fogel is a very active member in two angel investment groups: New York Angels, the largest angel group in New York, where he runs the education program, and Launchpad Venture Group of Boston. Fogel is a Venture and Equity Investor in private and public technology companies, with a special interest in advisory work and board positions with technology startups. He has over 20 years of experience in business development; is a four-time former CEO and has seen six exits in four startups: Lannet, CommHome, Network-1, and ProActivity.
Currently, Fogel is the principal and owner of Majorlee Investment Corporation and Dream Networks, LLC. He is also the Chairman and CEO at ProActivity, Inc. (acquired by EMC Corp in 2006). He’s also a board member at the Israel Venture Network (IVN), a social venture / philanthropy organization, a board member at Localytics – a leading mobile app analytics company and a board member at CourseHorse – a NYC based SaaS provider of adult class listing, registration and fulfilment.
Fogel started his career as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces smart weapons development program, where, after eight years, he left as a major. He holds an MBA, Summa Cum Laude, in Entrepreneurship and Finance from the Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a B.Sc.EE in Computer Science and Engineering from Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology.
