Jason Klein has a diverse background in areas such as media, consulting, and healthcare. He is currently founder and CEO of On Grid Ventures, an advisory and investment firm specializing in digital media and marketing.
Klein began his career in consulting with Bain & Company and McKinsey, developing strategy for media, healthcare, and the consumer goods industries. While working in the healthcare sector, he also founded MDconsult.com and Healthy Living Media.
As CEO of Times Mirror Magazines, a publisher of titles such as Golf Magazine and Popular Science, Klein oversaw its divesture to Time Inc. for $475 million, and oversaw the turnaround from losses to profits of a number of the publishing house’s other properties.
Before founding On Grid Ventures, Klein was most recently President and CEO of NNN, the leading national network for local media. During his time there, Klein spearheaded its expansion from print media to a variety of platforms including web, mobile, and tablet.
In addition to his work at On Grid, Klein is currently Managing Director at Empirical Media and a member of New York Angels. Klein was named by Media Magazine as one of the “100 People to Know” in the media industry. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB from Dartmouth College in Computer Science.
