Today, I take a look at the state of venture capital and angel funding during the all of June, both in New York and nationally. Analyzing some publicly available data from our friends at CrunchBase, we break down the national aggregate statistics for all funding deals by stage of funding (Angel/Seed, Series A, Series B, and Series C+, and venture rounds that were not specified).
Quick Takeaways:
Another robust month for startups in the city with over $600M in announced funding with a high relative deal count of 61. A large portion of the funding is attributable to Series B rounds with 14 announced deals. Series B funding in NYC comprised nearly 27% of B fundings nationally. Round sizes both nationally and in NYC have adjusted down from recent levels especially at the later stage round levels.
