Frame.io Acquired by Adobe for $1.275B

Frame.io, a video creation and collaboration platform, has agreed to be acquired by Adobe in a transaction that values the business at $1.275B.  “Frame.io and Adobe share a vision for the future of video creation and collaboration that brings together Adobe’s strength in video creation and production and Frame.io’s cloud-native platform,” remarked Emery Wells, Frame.io Cofounder and CEO. “We’re excited to join Adobe to continue to drive video innovation for the world’s leading media and entertainment companies, agencies, and brands.”

Founded by Wells and John Traver in 2014, Frame.io had raised a total of $90.2M in reported equity funding.  Investors in the company include Accel, Insight Partners, Shasta Ventures, FirstMark, SignalFire, Kortschak Investments, Tectonic Capital, Jason Finger, Jason Finger, Jared Leto, Clark Valberg, Walter Kortschak, Thomas Hesse, Jon Dahl, Kevin Spacey, and Zencoder. Wells and Traver will both join Adobe and the transaction is expected to close in Q4 of Adobe’s 2021 fiscal year.
