Online eyeglass retailer, Warby Parker, has just raised $100 million in a fresh round of funding. The Series D round was led by T. Rowe Price, with participation from Wellington Management and previous backers Tiger Global and General Catalyst.
The latest funding brings the company’s valuation to $1.2 billion.
Refinery29, a fashion and style site catering to female readers, has raised $50 million in Series D financing, led by Scripps Networks Interactive and WPP.
Signpost, a cloud-based CRM software that gives local businesses the power to effortlessly build and manage customer relationships, has raised $20.5 million in a Series C funding round led by Georgian Partners, along with Spark Capital, OpenView Venture Partners, Scout Ventures and the Launch Fund.Google Ventures and angel investor Jason Calacanis also participated.
Media company The Daily Dot, has raised $10 million in funding from an undisclosed media company.
Clarifai, whose image recognition software helps companies better handle certain kinds of data, has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Union Square Ventures, Lux Capital and Osage University Partners. Other participants in the round include Google Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Nvidia Ventures, Corazon Capital, LDV Capital and New York University.
Concert subscription service, Jukely, has raised $8 million in seed funding led by Northzone and 14W, with participation from a long list of individual investors, including GroupMe founders Steve Martocci and Jared Hecht; David Lerner, and AmolSarva.
Campus Job, the best way for students to find their first job by leveling the playing field for both students and employers and making it easier for them to connect, just closed $7.8M in Series A funding (bringing their total funding to $9.1M), led by General Catalyst along with a mix of new and existing investors, including Index Ventures, Box Group, SV Angel, Slow Ventures, LererHippeau Ventures, and others.
SlamAd, an ad tech startup that’s developing a mobile texting application with integrated advertising, has raised $1.2 million in seed funding from unnamed strategic investors.
TripleMint, a startup that aims to take the pain out of buying, selling and renting an apartment, has raised $1.65 million in seed funding from investors Dominion Capital, Winklevoss Capital(as in the Winklevoss twins), Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, Kima Ventures, Archangel Ventures, FabriceGrinda, Tom Falus (former president of Cushman & Wakefield) and Mike Albanese (publisher of the New York Observer).
The company, formerly known as Suitey, which AlleyWatch has covered before, are ER Accelerator alums.
Great week for Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator! Not only did they have their latest Demo Day, but Scentbird just closed on $650K in seed funding from TMT Investments and Dominion Capital.
Scentbird is the only company that gives women who love to have a variety of perfumes at their disposal, access to hundreds of designer and niche fragrances for $14.95 a month.
Skiplagged wins! Skiplagged, which finds travelers the cheapest airfares possible by routing them through ‘hidden cities’, was being sued by United Airlines and Orbits. Young founder Aktarer Zaman quickly put up a fight – and a GoFundMe campaign to pay for his legal defense.
The Chicago courts dismissed United’s case this week.
