Ample Hills Creamery, the creative ice cream shop, has raised a $4M Seed round from Tom Potter, Red Sea Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures and Brooklyn Bridge Ventures. This is founder’s Jackie Cuscuna and Brian Smith’s first round.

Nuvolo Technologies, the cloud-based platform– developers, have raised $2M in a Seed round from New Enterprise Associates and Servicenow.

New report on New York City’s job creation publishes report with stunning results. Numbers show that job manufacturing in the city has increased (1.2%), while the state’s numbers have decreased (1.4%). Additionally as of 2014, food manufacturing has surpassed the apparel industry, increasing over the past 3 years in all 5 boroughs. Click here to see more.

The Biotech company Iliad that focuses on preventing Bordetella Pertussis, has raised a Seed round of $640K.

Bandwagon, the airport taxi sharing business saving our planet, has extended their service to JFK Terminal 5, with plans to reach Terminal 4 shortly. You can learn more about Bandwagon here.

digg, the site that helps you find the best of the Internet, has raised a $4M Series A by Digital Garage. Despite it being a Series A, this is CEO Kevin Rose’s 5th round of funding, bringing his total funding to $49M.

The digital marketing company, MediaMath, has acquired the Swiss advertising company Spree7. In addition, they have announced the appointment of Spree7’s CEO, Viktor Zawadzki, as Regional Manager for DACH.

NYU hosted their first ever Healthcare Innovation Makerthon. Top pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Stryker partnered with the university to help entrepreneurship in the healthcare industry.

The four winning NYU teams are:

  1. Savita – Anti-microbial cellphone cases to combat hospital-acquired infections.
  2. Find My Patient – Patient-tracking system that works with existing hospital IT infrastructure.
  3. SyncMD – a Clinical decision support platform providing actionable insight for providers.
  4. combINR – a device that facilitates patient/provider communications for Atrial Fibrillation patients.

Playfor, the crowdfunding platform for college athletes, has raised their Seed round. This is Founder Rob Wyant’s first round.

Zipdrug, the prescription drug delivery company, has raised a $2.6M Seed round from undisclosed investors. This is CEO Stu Libby’s second round of funding.

Jetzy, the social media app for travelers, has raised a $650K Seed round. This marks Ty Sawyer and Shama Zehra’s first round of funding for the company.

The leader in global Social Intelligence, Synthesio, has announced Janet Megdadi as the company’s new Chief Revenue Officer. Synthesio’s C-suite now includes two women.

Adhawk, the marketing optimizers, have announced a Seed round of $1.4M from  eonCapital, Rich Greenfield, Matchstick Ventures, Zelkova Ventures, Margaret H. Lawrence, Techstars, Techstars Ventures, Jennifer, Fremont-Smith and Dave Balter.

SALIDO, the restaurant operating system, has raised $2M in their Seed round led by High Line Venture Partners and Shana Fisher, with help from Scott Belsky, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Accelerator Ventures and 500 Startups.

Vanare, the wealth management platform, has raised a $3.25M Seed round. This is Richard Cancro’s 3rd round of funding.

PHHHOTO, the camera app to shoot moving pictures, has raised a $1.5M Seed led by Eniac Ventures, with support from WME and Maveron. This marks the founders, Russell Armand, Omar Elsayed, Champ Bennett’s, first round of funding.

TriPlay, the next-generation personal cloud company, has announced that Matt Downing is joining the team as the new Chief Marketing Officer. Matt was previously at SiriusXM.

Fluent, the company improving online communication has been acquired by IDI inc. for $100M and 15M shares of common stock. IDI’s Big Data analytics plans to help Fluent immediately.
