The latest venture capital, seed, pre-seed, and angel deals for NYC startups for 10/17/2023 featuring funding details for Prove, Reality Defender, and much more. This page will be updated throughout the day to reflect any new fundings.


Prove – $40M

Prove, an identity verification and authentication platform for digital transactions, has raised $40M in venture funding led by Capital One Ventures and MassMutual Ventures. Founded by Mike Brody and Rodger Desai in 2008, Prove has now raised a total of $242.9M in reported equity funding.


Reality Defender – $15M

Reality Defender, a deepfake detection platform, has raised $15M in Series A funding from investors that include DCVC, Comcast Ventures, Partnership Fund for New York City, Rackhouse Venture Capital, Parameter Ventures, AI Grant, and Ex/Ante. Reality Defender was founded by Ben Colman, Ali Shahriyari, and Gaurav Bharaj in 2021.


Swsh – $1.7M

Swsh, a social app focused on building deeper connections between friends with polls, has raised $1.7M in Pre-Seed funding from investors that include MaC Venture Capital, Cory Levy, Stellation Capital, Cyril Berdugo, Glenn Solomon, Peter Boyce II, and Richard J. Li. Swsh was founded by Alexandra Debow, Nathan Ahn, and Weilyn Chong in 2022.

Bond Vet – $50M

Bond Vet, the urgent and primary veterinary care provider, has raised $50M in additional funding led by Warburg Pincus and Talisman Capital Partners. Founded by Lukas Keindl, Mo Punjani, and Zay Satchu in 2019, Bond Vet has now raised a total of $245M in reported equity funding.


JOOR – $25M

JOOR, a wholesale platform for brands and retailers, has raised $25M in Venture funding led by Brightwood Capital and Tamarix Capital Partners. Founded by Mona Bijoor in 2010, JOOR has now raised a total of $107.5M in reported equity funding.


Prepared – $16M

Prepared, a public safety platform that allows users to easily dispatch info to 911, has raised $16M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that there were three investors in the round. Founded by Daniel James, Dylan Gleicher, Michael Chime, and Neal Soni in 2019, Prepared has now raised a total of $44.4M in reported equity funding.
